Champ D’Or: A Touch of French Baroque in Texas

The Olana in Hickory Creek is a luxurious wedding venue with a rich history. Originally built as a private residence, the 50,000 square-foot French chateau-style mansion was inspired by the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte in Paris. Known as Champ D’Or, it was constructed in 2000 by Alan and Shirley Goldfield and completed in 2006. Legend says the couple lived in the mansion only a few nights before moving out. After the Goldfields left, the property remained vacant for six years until it was purchased by the Tabani family in 2012. In 2018, Walters Hospitality acquired the estate and transformed it into The Olana, a premier wedding and event venue.

The estate boasts opulent features such as marble floors, hand-carved spiral staircases, a gold-plated elevator, and a two-story Chanel-inspired closet. It also includes an indoor pool, tennis court, basketball court, and a tea room among other luxurious amenities. The Olana is set on a 40-acre estate and offers a fairytale-like setting for weddings, complete with plans for further enhancements like hotel buildings, a restaurant, bar, spa, and a reception hall.

This grand mansion estate represents a blend of Texan size and French elegance, providing a unique and extravagant backdrop for weddings and special events.
